Why this free PDF tool
Typical free web tools stop after three tasks an hour and cap files at 50 MB or 200 pages. Every extra step — merge, then compress, then number — burns another task. Kitcroft runs edit pdf in this browser. There is no task meter and the file is not sent to a processing server. Ads in the reserved frames keep the tools free.
Questions
- Does editing upload my PDF?
- No. Kitcroft reads the file in your browser with pdf.js and writes the result with pdf-lib. Close the tab and the bytes are gone.
- Can I edit existing PDF text like a Word doc?
- Yes for digital text: hover a line, click to type in place, drag the grip to move. Scanned pages have no live text — add a new text box instead. Nothing is uploaded.
- Is there a task or page limit?
- No hourly quota. Practical limits are your device memory. Very large scans may feel slow; a size notice appears above ~80 MB.
